Due to a tire mishap, please review the following information with your vehicle custodians. This will be posted on the wing safety education page for all wing CAP drivers to review and acknowledge review.

New areas for input has been added to TxWARP (TX website reporting system) to enter and report on tire installation and rotation data. The following functions are available now.

First, hosting units must click on Update a Vehicle’s Record in ADMINISTRATION and select a TIRE PATTERN - the default is STANDARD, which is L/FRONT, R/FRONT, L/REAR, R/REAR, and one or more SPARE tires.

Second, hosting units must click on Update Vehicle Tire Data in MAINTENANCE and enter several pieces of information for each tire:

· Make (e.g., Firestone)

· Model (e.g., FR870)

· Serial Number (should be on the sidewall)

· Date Manufactured (should be on the sidewall, may be just a date code)

· Date Installed (or date vehicle acquired, if new)

· Odometer Installed

· Date Rotated (leave blank if new)

· Odometer Rotated (leave blank if new)

Third, a report of Vehicle Tire Data is available in REPORTS, which is suitable for printing or cut-and-paste into Excel.

Please have all your vehicle custodians and wing members with a CAP drivers license acknowledge review and input the tire information into TxWARP before March 30, 2018.

Please send all VHF radios to Texas Wing Conference for programing.

Texas Wing has received changes to the frequencies authorized for use in VHF FM radios. Texas Wing will also be implementing the "paging" function on all EF Johnson VHF FM radios.

ALL VHF FM radios MUST be reprogrammed to implement these changes.

The initial reprogramming for EF Johnson radios will be conducted at the Wing Conference. ALL units should arrange for ALL EF Johnson radios to be brought or sent to the Wing Conference on 2 Feb 18 for the installation of the 28 Jan 18 code plug.

The following notice is effective immediately:


The following channels in the listed radios are no longer authorized for use until the 28 Jan 2018 code plug is installed.

EF Johnson - All models

Zone 4, Channels 1 - 8

TDFM-136 (Aircraft radio)

Channels 50 - 57

NAT (Aircraft radio)

Channels 21 - 28


Channels 36 and 50 - 57

Notify the Texas Wing Director of Communications if any communications plans reference the use of these channels.
